The restoration of the original homestead was truly a labour of love, from the rebuilding of the sunken piles to the perfect matching of the rotten veranda. It was a process of recycling the old native timbers where possible and sourcing timbers from elsewhere, then cutting them to shape in the joinery factory. We now believe it does justice to the original. The owners of this amazing property were very clear that this old girl would continue to be a feature of our Hawke’s Bay landscape for at least another hundred years.

Homestead Reimagined
The initial idea of changing a few internal fittings morphed gradually into a 3 year project to add Jacqueline’s exquisite style to this homestead. Resulting in restoring the heritage of this lovely Hawke’s Bay icon, the house is now a stunning property. The addition of a beautiful cottage, stables, gym and pool draws this wonderful place together. An absolute privilege to be a part of this project.
