Come home to
your dream job.
Lots of builders can construct a modern, functional home. But only a Brittin builder can apply their skill and craft to create an exceptional home that will become a future classic or renovate a piece of history so that it will endure another hundred years.
We achieve this by being extremely discerning in our recruitment then investing in the professional development of our team and valuing the individuals within it in the way you would expect from a business with strong family values.
We have a carefully considered balance of experienced tradespeople (some who have been with us for 20-30 years!) and young and hungry apprentices and builders committed to professional development. Together they share the best of the old ways and the new to ensure every Brittin home is something a little bit special.
We recruit based on potential, skill and attitude and in return offer the opportunity to have a career and not just a job.
We also offer small but important perks to remind our team every day how much we value them.
All these things combined with a culture that is supportive, positive and focused on quality means we don't often have vacancies, but we will always make space for the right person. If that's you, please get in touch or submit your CV.

Jason and Emily are lovely people to work for and we take care of each other. Anybody who works for them gets really looked after. At other places you might feel like a number but at Brittin you're a person and almost a part of the family. The result is the team all give 100% and the results speak for themselves.
Everything at Brittin is bespoke. It’s all hand cut, made to measure. No day is the same and every day you’re working on something new and different. I love telling friends about all the beautiful houses we work on and all the craft that goes into what we do. We don’t just create square boxes. At Brittin I really feel they care about you. We often have drinks together, Emily will come over from the house and stop for a chat. We see Jason all the time, he’s constantly engaged with what we are doing.
I love working with solid timber, it's got a lot of character and it feels good to be using my skills to restore and build really beautiful homes in Hawke's Bay. Brittin are good people to work for and look after their employees. There's a good crew and a real variety of work. Every day is different.
Final quality is the most important thing to me in this job, and making customers happy. Good preparation in any job makes all the difference. It makes a huge difference for us as painters to be able to work alongside the builders and communicate with them what we need in order to create an amazing result with the painting.
